“Am I too old to learn an instrument?”

No, you are never too old to acquire a new skill. We accept adult students into our private lessons and programs all the time. If you are willing to commit to showing up to lessons and practicing your instrument, you will be sounding incredible in no time! We offer group and private (1:1) learning options for adults interested in learning music.

“How old should a child be to start private lessons?”

Every child is different, however we always say 4-5 years old is a good age to start one on one private lessons. For children 2-4 years old, we recommend enrolment in our “musical kindergarten” Jingles4Juniors program, so they are ready for private lessons when they’re older!

“Do you have recitals?”

Yes, we host two in-person recital events per year! Our recitals are a wonderful time for the Brava community to get together and celebrate all the hard work and achievements of our students! Students from our group lesson programs are also invited to attend and perform.

“Do you makeup lessons/classes?”

YES! You can ask us about our makeup lesson policy when you sign up!

“Do I need to have an instrument to take music lessons?”

We strongly recommend that you have the instrument you’d like to learn prior to beginning private lessons. Without an instrument, you cannot practice, and that makes it nearly impossible for you to develop your skill! Our admin team is able to help you find an instrument of your own if you’re unsure of where to look. Email hello@bravaacademyofmusic.ca for help, or speak to our front desk at your next lesson!
