Hi, I’m Bethany Russell, and I’m the owner & founder of Brava Academy of Music and the Performing Arts.
It’s hard to imagine, but Brava started as a tiny music studio in my parents basement when I was 16 years old! Steadily, I grew my student base while putting myself through school at the University of Windsor. To me, playing the piano wasn’t just “another skill”. It was a way to express myself, to create art and build my own confidence. These are all values that I passed on to my students.
In those early years, parents of the children I was teaching would comment on how much more confident their children were, and how they could already notice a difference in their child’s personalities and focus. Seeing the changes in these young students is really what inspired my true potential as a music teacher, and led me to turn this service I offered into a full time career.
Today, Brava has expanded to offer not only music lessons, but also art, dance, and drama classes. We’ve grown to a team of 17 passionate teachers who are excited to meet your child. All our teachers are hand selected, and are incredible representations of all the Brava stands for - a community driven Academy focused on shaping the next generation of kids, and maximizing their potential through music they can’t WAIT to play!
